| I am a graduate of The University of Georgia. At UGA, I
obtained my Bachelor's degree in Women's Studies and a certificate in
Environmental Ethics. My personal interests are in working on gender and environmental issues. From college, I have experience organizing campus activities,
lectures, and multiple campaigns surrounding women's issues
(specifically reproductive health issues). I also have quite a bit
of experience in volunteer management and have spent most of my college
career in leadership roles in various organizations.
One such organization is the Coalition Somos America (The We Are America Coalition) which I helped found. The coalition, made of professors, students, activists, and community members, organized an event about Economic Justice
and Immigrant Rights on our campus. After college from 2007-2009, I worked for a small non-profit in Washington, D.C. called Global Justice as the National Organizer for the Student Campaign for Child Survival. Here, I trained college students on campuses around the country to engage in politics and mobilized them around the issues of international child poverty and child health policy.
